Shanghai, China – 5 December 2019
The Top Employers Institute recently released the Top Employers China 2020 list of certified organizations. Deloitte China is proud to have received Top Employer in China certification for a 14th consecutive year, and attained a top three position for the first time. Deloitte China Management Team members, partners, employee representatives and HR executives accepted the award at the Top Employers China Certification Dinner on 2 December.

As the global authority on excellence in people practices, the Top Employers Institute is committed to bringing greater impact to talent strategies and building better workplace environments. Certified organizations must undergo a stringent research process and meet the required standards to achieve certification. The comprehensive assessment covers 10 key areas: talent strategy, workforce planning, on-boarding, learning & development, performance management, leadership development, career & succession management, compensation & benefits and culture. The process includes a critical review of answers and documents provided, a third-party audit of processes and data, and the rating of participants’ performance scores against an international standard.

Deloitte China CEO Patrick Tsang says, "We are highly privileged to have received the 'Top Employer' certification once again and ranked in the top three. Deloitte has been improving its way of work to meet the needs of future talent and new-generation workforces, exploring advanced models to attract, retain and develop talent in support of business transformation. This is driven by digital technology and innovation and is part of our efforts to implement a '4+1' culture of Courage, Innovation, Inclusion, Wellbeing + Integrity across the firm to empower employees with enhanced skills to address future workplace challenges.

"We have also launched the WorldClass initiative, in line with our commitment to making an impact that matters to society. Our goal is to improve education quality for migrant and left-behind children, prepare rural youth for opportunities in the 4th Industrial Revolution, and foster innovation in China's agricultural sector, living our purpose."

WorldClass is Deloitte’s global, organization-wide initiative to prepare 50 million futures for a world of opportunity by 2030. As part of this global ambition, Deloitte China's WorldClass, launched this August, will impact 10 million rural children and farmers by 2030. To achieve our goal of empowering these 10 million futures, we will leverage our professional expertise and capabilities to facilitate agricultural modernization in China, promote more employment opportunities in rural areas, and empower children through the application of innovation and technology, backed by investment in education, skills development and access to opportunity.

Deloitte China Chief Talent Officer Jungle Wong says, "In the age of digital transformation, we are leveraging digital tools to strengthen our real-time performance management system, enhance the learning and innovation capabilities of our people and seek to equip them with the talents that will be required by learning enterprises. For example, D.Coin, our talent incentive program launched recently, is the first application of blockchain to reward talent in our profession and an innovative approach to talent management and incentives through the creation of a digital experience and a new virtual community. Throne Legend, our in-house developed learning game, enables employees to practice the knowledge and skills acquired through offline training in a gaming environment and enhance their ability to work as a team across regions and functions.

"Over the past year, Deloitte has continued to strengthen its culture of diversity and inclusion through continued innovation and investment, establishing the Diversity & Inclusion Council to create a favorable environment and opportunities for gender equality. This year, we have redefined 'Wellbeing'. Apart from our market leading Deloitte Exclusive Parents Critical Illness Insurance Plan launched last year, which has benefited parents of over 10,000 Deloitte staff, we launched the Family Emergency Support in 2019 to help staff live up to their responsibilities and commitments to their families. Furthermore, Deloitte will continue to embrace its "4+1" culture and deliver on the commitment to making an impact that matters to society, our clients and our people."
