Connecting with future talent through ideation and innovation

TechnoUtsav is a platform for students and all things technology. It provides students from technology and engineering streams the opportunity to gain deeper insights into the workings of the industry and exposure to the gamut of technologies at Deloitte.

The future is all about disruptive market technology that is transforming economies, jobs, and even society itself. Many physical and digital technologies are combining through Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cognitive Technologies, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to create digital enterprises that are both interconnected and capable of more informed decision-making.

Deloitte’s TechnoUtsav (TU) is structured to provide a unique platform to students in technology and engineering to come together to meet like-minded individuals, collaborate, and create unique solutions in these areas.

How is TechnoUtsav organized?

With ‘digital disruption’ forming the core of the event, the program offers a platform for students to interact, involve in activities, and present their perspectives to a panel.

TU is conducted across campuses through a series of tests and challenges leading up to the finale. The two-day finale enables students to create an impact by designing innovative solutions to some complex business problems of today and the future.

The program branches out into two threads, Collegiate Cyber Threat Competition (CCTC) and TechE, which are aligned to the security concepts and coding technologies, respectively.

Collegiate Cyber Threat Competition

Collegiate Cyber Threat Competition (CCTC) is a platform to hone and showcase cybersecurity concepts and fundamentals. Today, cyberspace is our primary platform to connect, share, and conduct commerce. It has also become a major target of crime and conflict. As indispensable as cyberspace is, there is also a significant scarcity of skilled professionals to make and keep it safe.

Students who choose cybersecurity as a profession have the opportunity to make significant contributions—to protect individuals from fraud, help the economy thrive, and defend national security. Deloitte seeks the brightest minds to come forward and be a part of this exciting cyberspace journey.

TechE

With the rapid expansion of Internet of Things (IoT), Cognitive Automation (CA), Machine Learning (ML) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), there is a growing need for businesses to adapt and, therefore, gauge customer responses to the market. As per experts and multiple studies, Internet of Things (IoT), Cognitive Automation (CA), Machine Learning (ML) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) will increasingly become a vital part of our lives.

The TechE thread is essentially a coding challenge revolving around these areas. Participants need to submit their ideas and design their solutions accordingly.

What’s on offer for the participants

  • Participants would get an opportunity to work with the specialists in the field
  • Pre-placement offers and internship opportunities
  • Cash prizes for the winning team, the first and second runners up
  • Other exciting giveaways and prizes for theme champions under TechE

Eligibility criteria

This program is open to students who are:

  • Currently pursuing full-time B.E/B.Tech (circuit and non-circuit branches) and are in their pre-final year of academic curriculum, M.E/M.Tech (Only CS and IT) who are also in their pre-final year of academic curriculum, and MCA students also in their pre-final year of academic curriculum (For e.g., for B.E/B.Tech which is a four-year course—only current third-year students will be eligible).
  • From colleges from where the Sponsor has received the database from the respective placement offices.

The journey so far

Through Season 1, we reached out to over 9500 students across 52 campuses to finally culminate into a Grand Finale wherein 42 students received pre-placement offers. TechnoUtsav came back in 2019 with Season 2. Over 13,000 students participated across 100+ engineering campuses, with 96 candidates receiving pre-placement offers.

The latest edition: TechnoUtsav 3.0

The competition started in February 2020 with an aptitude test. Around 20,000 students from more than 100 different Indian colleges and universities registered. Teams were shortlisted for TechE and CCTC.

The next round tested the subjective knowledge of students in coding technologies and cybersecurity. During this time, once the pandemic hit, all rounds were taken online.

The results were declared in September 2020 in a virtual event. The students also secured pre-placement offers.
